CSO offers virtual tour of European trip
The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra is taking its show on the road, and you can join them online.
Following its annual appearances at Carnegie Hall Monday and Tuesday, the CSO will leave Saturday for an eight-concert, eight-city tour of Spain, Germany and Poland. The orchestra will return Feb. 11.
It is the orchestra's first European tour since 1995, and its final tour with music director Jesus Lopez-Cobos. Cellist Han-Na Chang, 17, will be the featured soloist on tour.
The CSO is working with WCPO-TV (Channel 9) to create a Virtual Tour Web site. It will include information about the tour cities, concert halls, program, composer biographies, tour statistics, photos and diaries from the musicians on tour.
You'll find it on www.cincinnatisymphony.org after Saturday.
CSO musicians will act as virtual tour guides. Below is the tour itinerary, and each city's CSO guide:
Jan. 30 Bilbao, Spain, Palacio de Congresos y de la Musica Euskalduna Jauregia (violist Marna Street).
Jan. 31 Barcelona, Palau de la Musica Catalana (bass player Rick Vizachero).
