Roger Bacon stuns St. Xavier

        Josh Hausfeld scored 14 of his game-high 18 points in the second half as Roger Bacon upset No.1 St. Xavier 53-50 Friday night at St.X.

        The Bombers had the ball in the closing seconds of the game but were unable to get a shot off.

        Roger Bacon's defense limited Jordan Cornette to eight points and forced St.Xavier to shoot 16-of-46 from the field.

        • Moeller 77, McNicholas 71 (OT) — Matt Sylvester scored 24 and Nick Monserez had 23 for Moeller.

        McNick's Jarrod Lawhon hit three free throws with 18 seconds left in regulation to send the game into overtime.

        Moeller is now tied for first place with St. Xavier in the GCL South.

        • Purcell Marian 62, LaSalle 56 — Sophomore center Trent Calloway had a career-high 21 points to lead the Cavaliers.

        Keith Jackson added a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

        Freshman Billy Finnell, in only his third start as point guard, controlled the pace of the game and allowed only three turnovers for the Cavaliers.

        Doug Kruthaupt paced the Lancers with 19 points.
