Southern Buckeye Conference


CNE off to 8-0 start

        Charlie Roberts made four of five free throws in the final minutes Friday night to secure Clermont Northeastern's 76-66 victory over Hillsboro in a Southern Buckeye Conference game at Hillsboro.

        Roberts made seven of 12 free throws in the fourth quarter.

        CNE remains undefeated in the SBC at 8-0.

        Clermont Northeastern had five players score in double figures. Hillsboro was led by Matt Marischen with 13 points.

        • Batavia 55, Williamsburg 41 Senior Matt Faris scored 16 points and sparked a second-quarter rally to lead the Bulldogs over the Wildcats.

        Sophomore guard John Bailey scored had a career-high 13 points for Batavia, with Brad Mallon adding 11 points and 10 rebounds.

        Mike McKibben paced Williamsburg with 12 points.

        • Felicity 66, Georgetown 52 — Brad Hatfield and Ryan Taggert combined to score 21 points in the second half, and Felicity made 19 of 25 free throws in the fourth quarter.

        Jimmy Perkins added 18 points for Felicity.

        Craig Waits and Ryan Seesholtz each scored 13 for Georgetown.
