One-car accident kills Erlanger man

        CRESCENT SPRINGS — Joseph L. Finn, 43, of Erlanger, died early Saturday when his vehicle crashed into a highway pillar on Crescent Springs Road at the Interstate 75 overpass, Kenton County Police said.

        Mr. Finn was traveling northbound on Crescent Springs Road when his 2000 Toyota Corolla ran off the roadway shortly before 5 a.m. and struck the pillar head-on.

        He was pronounced dead at the scene.

        No one else was in the car.

        Kenton County Police refused further comment. They are still investigating the case.
       

10-year-old boy dies after ATV crashes

        SEDALIA, Ky. — A 10-year-old boy died after he was thrown from the four-wheel all-terrain vehicle he was riding, police said.

        Zachary Shultz died Thursday night from severe chest injuries, said Graves County Chief Deputy Sheriff Dewayne Redmon.

        Zachary apparently had been thrown from the four-wheeler when he attempted to jump over something, Chief Deputy Sheriff Redmon said.

        Zachary was pronounced dead at 7:24 p.m. CST at the Jackson Purchase Medical Center.

        Zachary was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, police said.
       

House fire kills Owen County woman

        OWENTON, Ky. — The body of a 69-year-old Owen County woman was found after a house fire early Saturday, Kentucky State Police said.

        The body is identified as Grace R. Cook, state police said. The cause of death is unknown, but a preliminary investigation does not indicate suspicious circumstances, state police said. An autopsy is pending.

        The cause of the fire is being investigated by state police arson investigator Danny Stivers.

        The fire was reported at 1:38 a.m., state police said.
