Cincinnati boys basketball games


Hamilton hands St. X third straight loss

The Cincinnati Enquirer

        Hamilton's Nate Rusbosin made two free throws with 37 seconds to play to give the Big Blue, ranked No.8 in the Enquirer's Division I poll, a 51-50 lead and an eventual 55-50 upset of No.2 St.Xavier Saturday.

        John Smith made four free throws in the final 30 seconds to seal the win. Smith had six fourth-quarter points and Rusbosin added seven.

        Hamilton converted 10 of 10 free throws in the fourth quarter. Mike Grogan and Mike Heekin each scored 12 points for St.Xavier.

        The loss is St.Xavier's third in a row, all since guard Steve Callahan sprained an ankle.
