Fort Ancient Valley Conference games


Winton Woods goes 20-0 again

        P.J. Mills scored 29 points to lead Winton Woods to a 68-44 victory over Harrison, completing the Warriors' second consecutive undefeated regular season.

        Winton Woods (20-0) is the No.1 team in The Enquirer's Division I coaches poll and is primed to earn the poll championship when the final poll is released Monday.

        Junior guard Paul Volkerding paced the Wildcats with 26 points, including five 3-pointers.

        WINTON WOODS (68) — Anderson 4 2 10, Fields 0 5 5, Hunter 0 2 2, Riley 4 4 12, Hite 4 2 10, Mills 13 3 29. Totals: 25 18 68.

        HARRISON (44) — Volkerding 9 3 26, Brech 4 2 10, Ludwick 2 1 5, McDonald 1 1 3. Totals: 16 7 44.

        • Loveland 68, Wilmington 57 — Loveland clinched the Fort Ancient Valley Conference Cardinal division title with a 14-0 record. The Tigers finished 19-1 overall.

        Loveland hit 11 of 14 field goals in the first quarter to get off to a 24-9 lead.

        Junior guard Kevin Schappell scored eight of his 18 points in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.

        Junior guard John Oakley paced the Panthers with 15 points.

        • Mason 65, Northwest 55 — Sophomore center-forward Jordan Faulkner scored 15 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Comets.

        Mason made six of its seven 3-pointers in the second half as the Comets snapped a 20-20 halftime tie.

        Northwest junior guard Will Walker led all scorers with a career-high 26 points.

        Glen Este senior forward Mike Clyburn made eight of his career-high 20 points in the fourth quarter to help send the game to OT.
