By Larry Nager
The Cincinnati Enquirer
Rock superstar Peter Frampton, one of the newest members of the Tristate music community, has been added to the 2001 Cammy Awards, March 11 at Jillian's Warehouse in Covington.
The singer/guitarist, whose Frampton Comes Alive! remains the all-time, top-selling live album, will participate in the awards program as a special guest presenter.
Mr. Frampton joins a roster of the area's finest rock, blues, soul, jazz, country, hip-hop and folk musicians.
Performers at the fifth annual Cincinnati Enquirer Pop Music Awards again cover the broad spectrum of area music: Noah Hunt & the 420 All Stars, the Simpletons, Tracy Walker, the Dallas Moore Band, Iswhat!?, the 17-piece CCM Jazz Ensemble directed by Rick VanMatre, P. Ann Everson Price & her All-Star Band and the Sonny Moorman Group.
Look for the announcement of this year's lifetime achievement award winner Sunday in Tempo.
The program will begin at 4 p.m. March 11. It is an all-ages event; children are welcome. Tickets are $12.50 in advance at Ticketmaster outlets, by phone (562-4949) and online (www.ticketmaster.com) and $15 day of show at the door.
Ticket proceeds go to the Michael W. Bany Memorial Scholarship fund, which aids needy music students in Greater Cincinnati.
