LEBANON A Mason woman is facing charges after authorities say she made up stories about being attacked. The Warren County grand jury on Tuesday indicted Nicole R. Gilmore, 27, on two counts of tampering with evidence, both felonies, and a misdemeanor count of falsification.
Warren County Prosecutor Tim Oliver said Ms. Gilmore told authorities she was abducted and sexually assaulted in September. In November she allegedly gave a second attempted abduction report.
She is also accused of creating a false note about the first attack and removing a police camera from her residence.
The felony indictment came three months after Mason police charged Ms. Gilmore with six misdemeanor counts of falsification and obstruction of official business for allegedly fabricating reports that she was kidnapped and sexually assaulted twice since Sept. 18.
Mason Prosecutor Robert Peeler said Wednesday that he is dropping the misdemeanor charges because he thinks the case should be tried in one court.
In another indictment this week, Shawn Abbott, 36, of Lebanon, was charged with aggravated vehicular homicide and aggravated vehicular assault, both felonies, in a wreck that killed a 77-year-old Springfield Township woman and seriously injured her daughter Jan. 6.
