The Cincinnati Enquirer

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. — Craig Conley scored 21 points and collected 11 assists Saturday as Northern Kentucky defeated Quincy (Ill.) 110-91 in Regents Hall.

Brian Lawhon (Sycamore) added 22 points for NKU, which improved to 24-5 overall, 15-5 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Norse are ranked No.15 nationally in the Division II poll.

Conley (LaSalle) now has 501 career assists, and he needs 29 to break the NKU all-time record of 529 (held by Shannon Minor). It was Conley's second straight double-double.

“Craig Conley is playing as well as any guard in our conference,” NKU coach Ken Shields said. “He is scoring some points, but he is also doing a fine job of passing the ball and finding the open man.”

NKU made 17 of 34 3-point attempts and shot 52.8 percent from the field. Todd Clark (Holy Cross) grabbed a career-high 17 rebounds for the Norse, and Craig Sanders (McNicholas) added 16 points.

NKU will begin play at the GLVC Tournament in Evansville, Ind., Thursday. Pairings and times will be announced today.
