NewCath rolls past Bellevue

Senior guard Ronny Dawn scored 22 points to lead Newport Central Catholic past Bellevue 67-43 in 36th District action at Bellevue on Tuesday night.
Senior guard Vince Bonhaus scored all 10 of his points in the third quarter to help the Thoroughbreds break open the game.
Bonhaus also had five steals and four assists.
Senior center Corey Myers added 10 points for NewCath.
Sophomore center Charlie McIntyre led Bellevue with 18 points.
NCC, the No.2 team in The Enquirer's Northern Kentucky coaches poll, will play Newport at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the district semifinals.

Scott County 94, Williamstown 44, 32nd District at Walton-Verona Senior center Nate Austin scored 10 points in the first quarter to help Scott County to 26-3 lead.
Austin finished with 18 points and 12 rebounds and Coy Zerhusen added 17 points.
Scott County will face the winner of today's Owen County/Grant County game in the championship at 7 p.m. Friday.

Covington Catholic 90, Ludlow 47, 35th District at Covington Catholic Adam Quast scored 17 points and Greg Hiltz added 14 for CovCath. The Colonels were never challenged after taking a 22-12 first-quarter lead.
Covington Catholic earned a trip to the regional tournament with the victory. The Colonels will play the winner of today's Holy Cross-Holmes game Friday for the district title.

Andrew Sullivan scored 11 points and Michael Hopkins had 10 for the Juggernauts.
Lloyd advanced to the semifinals against Dixie Heights at 6:30p.m. Thursday.
