Dixie wins close one
Sarah Wright made both ends of a one-and-one with 3.9 seconds to play to seal Dixie Heights' 45-42 win over Villa Madonna in a 34th District game at Villa Madonna.
Dixie Heights took the lead with 12 seconds to play on a free throw by Cassie Shondel after Villa Madonna had tied it up on a 3-pointer by Alex Randall.
Dixie Heights next plays the winner of today's Scott-Calvary Christian game in the district final at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Villa Madonna. Both district finalists will advance to the regional tournament.
