        Media Salon: Media Bridges, Cincinnati Film Society and the Association of Independent Video and Filmmakers invite film and video makers of all levels of experience to attend the Media Salon, 7 p.m. today at Old St. George, 42 Calhoun St., Corryville. Artists take turns showing their works for critique and discussion by fellow participants.

       Chamber concert: Music director Mischa Santora is back in town, and he's brought an intriguing soloist for Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra concerts, 3 p.m. Sunday in Memorial Hall and 7:30 p.m. Monday at Rockdale Temple, Amberley Village. Pianist Ignat Solzhenitsyn performs Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 17. Get there early (2:15 p.m. Sunday; 6:45 p.m. Monday) to hear him talk about what it was like growing up with his father, Soviet dissident Alexander Solzhenitsyn, Tickets: $4-$20, 723-1182.

        Avant-Garde Sunday: The day is Sunday, the time is 4 p.m. and the place is Room 5401 of the DAAP Building on the University of Cincinnati campus.

        The reason to be there: “Return of Cool: Jud Yalkut,” a salute to the Ohio-based filmmaker who will introduce a small sampling from his sprawling body of experimental film and video work.

        Sponsors of the event are the UC art department and Cincinnati Film Society.

        Tickets are $2, free for UC students with valid ID.

        Golem screening: Baba Budan's Espresso Bar, 243 Calhoun St., continues its program of local film fare at 4 p.m. Sunday with a screening of The Golem, produced and directed by filmmaker and news photographer Scott Wegener (The Spider's Web). The film, broadcast on Channel 9 in April 2000, was made entirely with volunteer cast and crew. It is based on the legend of a rabbi in Prague who fashions a clay giant to protect his people.

        Teen idols: 'NSync will pay homage to the King of Pop at next month's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremonies.

        The best-selling boy band will induct Michael Jackson into the hall on March 19. Besides Mr. Jackson, who was inducted as a member of the Jackson Five, other inductees include Paul Simon, Aerosmith, Queen and recent Grammy winners Steely Dan.

        'NSync is also gearing up for a nationwide tour, which will kick off in Miami in May and includes a June 6 appearance at Cinergy Field. Also in June, they're set to release a new album, the follow-up to No Strings Attached, the best-selling disc of 2000.

        'NSync will pay tribute to another Jackson next month. They are among the acts who will perform for “mtvICON,” lauding Janet Jackson.
