Delta on-time record still poor
By James Pilcher
The Cincinnati Enquirer
Delta Air Lines continued to struggle with on-time performance and cancellations in January with weather and pilots' refusal of overtime continuing to take a toll but it did better than the previous month.
Flights by the Atlanta-based airline the main tenant at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport arrived within 15 minutes of schedule 73.1 percent of the time.

That placed Delta ninth out of 11 major airlines the Department of Transportation tracks.
At 5.3 percent, Delta had the most cancellations of the majors. In December, the airline finished last with a 56.1-percent on-time rate and had canceled 10.3 percent, again the most.
The rates do not include Delta subsidiary Comair.
But the report, issued late Thursday, had some good news. Delta was the best among the majors in 2000 when it came to bumping passengers, or denying people seats because of oversold flights. The airline had the worst rate in 1999
Last year, Delta bumped passengers 3,327 times, at a rate of 0.33 bumps per 10,000 passengers.
That's down from 15,607 the previous year, or 1.53 bumps per 10,000.
