Miami women bow out
CLEVELAND Miami's season ended with a n 86-70 loss to Kent State in the Mid-American Conference Tournament semifinals.
Kent, the No.2 seed, held Miami's Kim Lancaster to 11 points. Lancaster, a 6-foot freshman from Princeton High, had 40 points in Miami's upset of Ball State in the quarterfinals.
Kent's 6-4 center, Julie Studer, blocked five shots and had 31 points.
She's hard to shoot over, Lancaster said. She's 6-4, with those long arms.
Studer had 31 points.
Miami, the No.6 seed, finishes 18-11.
Heather Cusick led Miami with 27 points, six rebounds and four assists.
Miami started three sophomores and two freshmen this season.
