Girls All-Ohio Division III team


McCarthy, Harvey on 2nd team

        Maria McCarthy of Wyoming and Micah Harvey of Eastern Brown, who led their teams to the state tournament this week, are second-team picks on the Associated Press Division III All- Ohio girls basketball team, announced Tuesday.

        McCarthy, a 6-3 senior, averaged 14.6 points, and Harvey, a 5-8 junior, averaged 17.5 points.

        Amber Flynn of North College Hill, 5-10 sophomore, is a third-team pick. She averaged 16.5 points.

        Kristal Tharp of Chillicothe Zane Trace, who averaged 34.7 points, is player of the year.

        The selections were based on the recommendations of a state panel of sports writers and broadcasters.
