TV picks: Roll out the VCRs for this great rerun: An ER in which Doug Ross (George Clooney) rescues a boy from a culvert during a fierce rainstorm. It's an exciting hour, superbly filmed. 10 p.m., Channels 5, 22.

Hard-core sci-fi fans revere the name of Philip K. Dick, late author of the stories that inspired Blade Runner and Total Recall, among others. An acclaimed but rarely seen documentary about the strange, even surreal, life of the visionary writer is out on DVD, complete with bonus footage and behind-the-scenes info.
