LOUISVILLE — A prosecutor has resigned from the Jefferson County commonwealthattorney's staff after being charged with illegal possession of anabolic steroids, officials said Thursday.

        Trevor A. Smith, 30, an assistant commonwealth attorney, last year applied for appointment to the District Court bench.
