FORT THOMAS Forget the bunnies or the chicks. This Easter, it's pooches on parade.
Friends of the Shelter is hosting a canine Easter Parade today in Tower Park.
The event is to raise money for the non-profit organization, which supports animal shelters in Boone, Kenton and Campbell counties.
Most (shelters) are on a limited budget, and sometimes they need something extra that they can't afford, said Bonnie Ravenscraft, Friends of the Shelter president.
Friends of the Shelter was founded 11 years ago to support the Boone County animal shelter, but the group has since expanded across Northern Kentucky with about 100 members.
Registration is at 2 p.m. The parade begins at 3. Cost is $5 per pet.
