Dieters are feeling pressure of spring
By Peggy O'Farrell
The Cincinnati Enquirer
Spring has sprung, and our Cincinnati Dieters are feeling the magic of the season.
They're just not seeing it on the scale.
Nurse Mary Youtsey's weight remained unchanged for two weeks in a row after a 20-pound weight loss. But she resumed her full exercise schedule and is walking and running regularly again.

You get a little frustrated at hitting a plateau, Mrs. Youtsey says. But I remember talking with (behavioralist Gary Weiler) at Jewish Weight Management Center, and he said the hardest thing is for you mentally not to go back to where you were and get disgusted and depressed and start eating again.
But the exercise helps. She exercised through Survivor Thursday night, and runs regularly with her dog.
I've been out running because the weather's so nice. That's a big incentive. You're wearing smaller clothes. I put on a pair of shorts I couldn't wear last year. And knowing bathing-suit season is right around the corner is a big incentive to stick with it and get out there and exercise.
Bus driver Tanya Chinn is also finding the sunshine and warm weather a great incentive to work out.
I've been doing some walking, and I'm trying to do a little more since the weather's been nice. That's about as far as I'm getting with the exercise, Ms. Chinn says.
Ms. Chinn's weight dropped a pound after she had gained a pound two weeks ago.
Teacher Jerome Manigan was on vacation, and unavailable for an update.
