Staying In
TV picks: Question: Will the public watch anything that has a $1 million payoff? Answer: Find out tonight when the XFL throws a championship game. Los Angeles and San Francisco collide, with players on the winning team dividing up $1 mil; since most of these guys make $40,000 a season, that's worth fighting for. XFL Football, 8 p.m., Channel 5.
Shades of Pink: Peter Sellers formed his delightful Inspector Clouseau character in the movie Pink Panther. Then he perfected it in this sequel. Like Pink, this has dandy direction by Blake Edwards and music by Henry Mancini; not to mention Mr. Sellers at his peak. A Shot in the Dark, 8:05, AMC.

48 hours out: Theatre of the Mind, a little bit edgy and a whole lot daring, pops up with a reading of Pantomime, a comedy by Caribbean writer Derek Walcott. 7 p.m. Monday, Ensemble Theatre, 1127 Vine St., Over-the-Rhine. $5. 421-3555.
