She may have put herself through the University of Cincinnati to earn her degree in sociology, but Laurie Stamper of Covington is not quite ready for a business suit.
I can't stand real conservative business suits. I just graduated, and wearing those clothes just doesn't make me happy right now, says the 23-year-old cosmetologist at Nail Relections in Montgomery.
Ms. Stamper was nominated for Real Style by Erica McDonnell, who wrote: We clients are constantly awed by her rather haute couture style, her ability to beautifully coordinate cutting edge outfits.
Describe your style: Some days, I look preppy and a little conservative; others I show up in studded jeans or short skirts. My clothes and my hair suit my mood, never the same.
Shopping buddy: Shannon Hitchin. We travel together, sometimes to Miami or New York to see friends, and we like to shop there.
You can be found shopping: In town, I like Dillard's in Kenwood because they have a lot of high-end brands like B.C.B.G, French Connection and DKNY. And I like the Lady Bug on Ludlow in Clifton. They have a lot of funky, less expensive clothes.
You wouldn't go out without: Perfume, Amarige, Angel and Victoria's Secret's Strawberry and Champagne lotion.
You wouldn't be caught dead in: Cutoff shorts and a baggy T-shirt. I just don't get that look.
Best bargain: Crocodile leather boots by Via Spiga for $5 at the Victoria's Secret Outlet Sale. And I bought a great pair of red patent leather knee-high boots with a clunky heel at Lady Bug.
You collect: Shoes. I probably have 200 pairs bought for $5 to $250.
You can't have enough: I love my Levi's 501 jeans, straight leg, button-fly front.
