Oak Hills keeps rolling

A late-season surge by the Oak Hills softball team continued Tuesday in the Division I sectional Tournament at Rumpke Park.
The Highlanders, trailing 2-1 after five innings, scored two runs in the sixth and one in the seventh for a 4-2 victory over Harrison.
The victory was the Highlanders' 10th in the last 12 games.
Junior Sara Camper had the winning hit, a home run with one on in the sixth inning. Jackie Cornelius had an RBI triple in the third and a solo home run in the seventh.
Beth Brackmann went the distance for the Highlanders, for her seventh victory in the last eight outings.
Ursuline 8, Princeton 0, Division I, Cincinnati II sectional at Rumpke Park Sophomore pitcher Ashley Morrison allowed only two hits for her sixth win in nine decisions.
Sophomore catcher Amanda Beyrer had four hits, and six different Ursuline players each had one RBI.
Glen Este 3, Anderson 2, Division I, Cincinnati II at Rumpke Park The Trojans took a 2-1 lead after two innings and rode the arm of sophomore Michelle Taylor to victory over the Redskins.
Sam Riley drove in the winning run with a groundout that scored Crystal Nickum in the second inning.
Loveland 5, Mount Notre Dame 1, Division I, Cincinnati II at Rumpke Park The Tigers scored three runs in the sixth inning and pitcher Mindy Snedeker went the distance, scattering five hits.
A sacrifice bunt by Jamie Songer drove in the winning run in the sixth inning, and Tara Miller and Theresa Wade followed with RBI singles.
Walnut Hills 21, Withrow 6, Division I, Cincinnati II The Eagles won for the third consecutive time over the Tigers, scoring 11 times in the first inning.
Clayton Northmont 3, Lakota East 0, Dayton Division I at JFK Field The Thunderbolts scored two runs in the fourth inning and pitcher Katie Marshall allowed only one hit.
Middletown 16, Dayton Colonel White 1, Dayton Division I at Middletown The Middies scored 10 runs in the first inning.
Pitcher Gail Balaz went the distance, allowing three hits. Becky Back and Kim Herold each had four hits and two RBI.
Baseball
Goshen 11, Norwood 10 Roger Drake hit three home runs, including the winner with two on in the bottom of the seventh inning, giving Goshen the victory. Drake had seven RBI overall.
STATE POLL: St. Xavier is ranked No.4 in this week's Associated Press Division I state baseball poll.
New Richmond is ranked No. 9 in Division II, and Cincinnati Country Day is No. 8 in Division IV.
