Cities to face off in Flying Pig Challenge

The Cincinnati Enquirer

The City Cup Challenge will make its debut at this year's Flying Pig Marathon, pitting runners from Cincinnati against runners from Akron, Columbus and Louisville.

HOW TO REGISTER
You can register for the Flying Pig or the Papa John's Flying Pig 5 Mile at flyingpigmarathon.com or by calling 513-721-PIGS.
Each city will field teams of up to five men and five women, and each runner will run the full marathon. The three best men's times and three best women's times for each city's team will be combined, and the team with the lowest total will win an engraved cup.

Each participant must live in the competing city.

Cincinnati will be represented by Betsy Armentrout, Marianne Babiak, Emma Bracey, Cheryl McKettrick, Laurie Rueve, Phil Helbig, Barrett Hopper, David Plank, William Valenzano and Tom Zimmerly.

JUN BACK: The Flying Pig has a favorite. Last year's winner, Rudolf Jun, entered the race Monday.

Jun, a Czech who lives in Fort Walton Beach, Fla., won last year's Pig in 2:23:32. He was second the year before in 2:22:31.
