7th-inning rally lifts Lockland

        A double by Dan Celenza drove in Zack Ellis in the seventh inning, giving Landmark Christian a 4-3 victory Wednesday over Lockland in the Division IV sectional baseball tournament at Tealtown Park.

        Ellis led off the inning with the double. After Mike Bishop, who his a home run to tie the game in the fifth, was intentionally walked, Celenza got the winning hit.

        • Summit Country Day 7, Clark Montessori 6, Division IV sectional at Tealtown Park — The Silver Knights scored twice in the bottom of the seventh inning to win.

        Nic Schweitering led off the seventh with a walk and stole second. He scored the tying run on a single by Chris Koepfer. After David Shayeson and Dan Reynolds were intentionally walked, Ty Ho gan singled to win it.

        • Fairfield 11, Sycamore 5 — The Indians clinched at least a tie for the Greater Miami Conference championship.

        Trailing 2-0 after the first three innings, Fairfield scored 11 runs during the next three thanks to big hits from Bryan Ingram and Brandon Grant.

        If Fairfield wins at Princeton today, the Indians will claim the championship outright.

        • Batavia 8, Glen Este 4 — A five-run first inning, triggered by key hits from Jason Shepherd, Matt Wilson, Scott Redmond and Brandon Fish, carried the Bulldogs.

        Seth Ellis pitched a complete game to pick up the victory.

        • Cincinnati Country Day 4, Wyoming 2 — Brett Smith hit a two-run homer and Noah Allen went the distance for his sixth victory without a loss.

        • Mason 9, Western Hills 7 — The Comets scored eight runs in the first two innings with the help of Mike Tedford's bases- loaded single and Brandon Evans' three-run home run. They held off a comeback attempt by the Mustangs, who scored seven times in the last three innings.

        Cincinnati Christian 6, Middletown Christian 1, Division IV sectional at Tealtown — The Cougars advanced to a second-round game with No.1-seeded Cincinnati Country Day.

Softball

               • Mason 4, Miamisburg 0, Dayton Division I at JFK Park — Junior Stephanie Piontek allowed just two hits and Stephanie Elfer had three hits as the Comets advanced to the second round.

        • Williamsburg 28, Mariemont 4, Division III sectional at Riverstar Park — The Wildcats scored 14 runs in the first inning.

        • CHCA 17, North College Hill 6, Division III sectional Riverstar Park — A nine-run sixth inning, which included three consecutive triples, carried the Eagles to victory.
