Cincinnati high school highlights


Badin rolls in sectional softball

        Stephanie Streit and Tracy Harrell each drove in two runs to lead Badin to a 7-3 victory over New Richmond in a Division II softball sectional tournament game at Riverstar Park Thursday.

        Sophomore Annie Schappacher pitched a complete game for the victory.

        • Little Miami 9, Purcell Marian 0, Division II at Riverstar — Sophomore Lauren Cook struck out 15 en route to her second straight one-hit shutout.

        • Cincinnati Christian 10, Middletown Christian 8, Division IV at Rumpke Park — Lisa Huff drove in two runs in the third to lead the Cougars.

        Kings 4, Roger Bacon 3, Division II at Riverstar — Laura Bentz and Megan Saunders each hit RBI doubles in the fifth inning.

        Franklin 6, Turpin 4, Division II at Riverstar — Mallory Root and Whitney Kirby combined for five RBI for the Wildcats.

        CCD 7, Lockland 4, Division IV at Rumpke — Ashley Baker drove in the game's first run and struck out eight batters for the Indians.

        • Landmark Christian advances to play Fayetteville after a forfeit by Ridgeville Christian.

Baseball

        • Deer Park 11, Felicity 8, Division III at Tealtown Park — Mark Price and Chris Smith each had two-run singles for Deer Park.

        Indian Hill 10, North College Hill 9, Division III at Tealtown — Freshman Brandon Hammer had a squeeze bunt to score Josh Iles and tie the game 9-9.

        His older brother, Senior Matt Hammer, followed with a single to score Brandon with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning.
