Work starts on new F&W building

New Race LLC started construction Friday on a 65,200-square-foot Kenwood office building that will be anchored by F&W Publications.

The publisher signed a lease to take all but 10,200 square feet of Kenwood Park Place. The three-story brick building will be finished by the first quarter 2002.

Dutch Cambruzzi and Gregg Pancero are the managing partners of the development. David Ottenjohn of Cincinnati Capital Properties is handling leasing duties.

F&W Publications had considered several other locations before settling on Kenwood. The publisher is now on Dana Avenue in Evanston, a location it plans to sell to Xavier University.

Downtown Christian school to expand

Cincinnati Christian Hills Academy has agreed to acquire an Elm Street lot from the city of Cincinnati so it can expand its downtown elementary school. The school has offered $765,000 for a city-owned facility at 918 Elm St.

The school opened last year at the old Crosley building and former headquarters of WLWT (Channel 5). It was funded with a $6.8 million gift from the Otto Armleder Trust for renovation and a $4 million gift from the Carl Lindner family.

School officials want the city land to expand instruction. The school now has 100 students, pre-kindergarten through fourth grade.

Historic preservation course is May 21

The National Trust for Historic Preservation will hold a workshop this month for those who want to learn more about rehabilitating historic buildings.

The one-day course will cover architectural styles, preservation regulations, tax credits and other areas of historic preservation.

Dwight Young of the National Trust will head the program, scheduled from May 21 from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Omni Netherland Plaza downtown. The cost is $139. For more information, call (973) 496-5628 or visit www.era.com.
