Schedule of area college commencement ceremonies




        Coming commencement ceremonies at area colleges and universities:

        • Northern Kentucky University, Highland Heights, 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Saturday.

        Speakers: Phillip A. Sharp, institute professor and founding director of the McGovern Institute for Brain Research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 10 a.m. during general commencement at Firstar Center in downtown Cincinnati; and Retired Army Maj. Gen. William K. Suter, clerk of the U.S. Supreme Court, 4 p.m. during Chase College of Law commencement at Regent's Hall on campus. Both ceremonies open to public.

        • Thomas More College, Crestview Hills. 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Speaker: Father Bill Cleves, outgoing president. Festival seating outdoors on campus. Open to public, with graduates and families receiving priority.

        • College of Mount St. Joseph, Delhi Township, 3 p.m. Saturday at Harrington Center on campus. Speaker: Dr. John M. Tew Jr., neurosurgeon with the Mayfield Clinic and chair of the Department of Neurosurgery, University of Cincinnati. Student admission.

        • Xavier University, 8:45 a.m. May 19 at Cintas Center. Speaker: Father James Donald Monan, S.J., chancellor of Boston College. Open to public.

        • University of Cincinnati, Clifton Avenue campus, 1:30 p.m. June 8 at Shoemaker Center. Speaker: Bill Cosby. Graduates and families only; tickets required.
