Police search for suspect in shootings of four men
By Kristina Goetz
The Cincinnati Enquirer
As neighbors tried to piece together the events that led to Monday night's shootings in Pendleton, Cincinnati homicide detectives searched for a suspect they say killed one man and injured three others.
Gary Smith, 50, of the 400 block of Pendleton Street, is wanted on a murder charge and three counts of felonious assault.

We're still looking for the suspect, Sgt. Tom Lanter said Tuesday afternoon after talking to residents on 12th Street about what they might know of the shooting.
This isn't going away. It would be better if he surrendered.
The shooting was at least the fifth violent episode in and around Over-the-Rhine since last month's riots.
Last week, there were three shootings in two days in Over-the-Rhine and adjacent Mount Auburn. On Saturday, a 21-year-old was shot at 12th and Vine streets.
As police went door-to-door Tuesday to find witnesses, neighbors stood outside a corner grocery store replaying events they say might have triggered the shooting.

Though neighbors say Mr. Smith mostly kept to himself, he was well-known by beat officers because he complained often of teens and young adults sitting on his porch. Passersby talked about the smell of grease he poured on his steps to keep teens away.
Police said Mr. Smith is accused of shooting the men in the area of 12th and 13th near Pendleton Street just after 10 p.m. Monday.
The men shot were identified as:
Jimmie Gordon, 29, of Pendleton, who was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at University Hospital.
Andre Ridley, 33, of Avondale; Steven Franklin, 20, of Pendleton and Jeff King, 23, of Pendleton, all of whom were listed in fair condition at University Hospital late Tuesday.
Police reports also show Mr. Smith filed an aggravated robbery report against three people Sunday night, saying they robbed him at gunpoint. A spokeswoman for the police division said officers were skeptical because the suspects were still in the area when they arrived. None was among the three shot Monday.
Michelle King, Jeff King's sister, said she talked to her brother from his hospital bed. Though he is on a breathing tube so his lung does not collapse, he relayed the events to her.
He said the guy just walked up to him and told him, "I'm fixing to kill you.' Then he pointed to the other men standing with Mr. King and said the same, "I'm fixing to kill him.'
Ms. King said her brother tried to get away.
He turned around and tried to run, she said, and he got shot in the back.
Then the gunman turned the corner and started shooting at others, she said.
