University of Cincinnati guard Steve Logan and Xavier center David West are among 45 college players invited to the USA Basketball Men's National Team Trials from June 1-3 in Colorado Springs, Colo.

        A committee will select players for two teams:

        • The U.S. World Championship for Young Men's qualifying team, which will compete Aug.3-12 in Saitama, Japan. Jim Boeheim of Syracuse is head coach.

        • The U.S. World University Games team. The competition is Aug.22 to Sept.1 in Beijing. Penn State's Jerry Dunn is head coach.

        Logan, a senior-to-be, played on the U.S. junior national team in 1999 that won a silver medal in Lisbon, Portugal. West, who will be a junior, has not played on a U.S. team.
