Miami plays for MAC baseball title
MUNCIE, Ind. The Miami RedHawks, the sixth-seeded and defending Mid-American Conference champions, defeated Kent State 10-9 Saturday at Ball State and advanced to the championship game with no losses in the double-elimination baseball tournament.
Kent State will play the winner of Ball State-Central Michigan from the loser's bracket.
Miami's Russ Bayer improved to 5-3, pitching six innings and allowing only four earned runs.
Russ Bayer gave us a chance to win, MU coach Tracy Smith said. Offensively, we battled. I tell my guys to have fun and be humble about it.
