NKU golfers last after first round

The Northern Kentucky Norse, with a first-round total of 37-over-par 321, were in 18th and last place at the 72-hole NCAA Division II Golf Championship finals in Allendale, Mich.
NKU freshman Brandon Brown shot a 3-over 74 at the Meadows Golf Course and is tied for 11th.
Florida Southern College, the three-time defending champion, is the team leader after one round at 289 (+5).
NKU junior Steve Landrum, the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Year, shot an 11-over-par 82 and is tied for 75th play.
The Norse, making their first appearance in the national finals since 1996, are 32 strokes off the lead going into today's second round.
