Ross softball team ousted

Benjamin Logan took advantage of four Ross errors in the 13th inning to score six unearned runs and end a three-hour marathon 7-4 in the Division II softball regional championship at Clayton Northmont.
The victory advances Benjamin Logan into the state semifinals against Lima Bath (24-3) at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Brookside Park in Ashland.
Ross scored an unearned run in the second inning for the lead.
Pitcher Rachel Richardson gave up one run in the sixth inning, sending the game into extra innings.
Richardson struck out 12, but walked six. She previously had walked only four during the season.
Ross (27-5) scored three runs in the bottom of the 13th.
