Staying In

TV picks: Tonight's best rerun is the chilling Frontline examination of how and why Kip Kinkel, 15, murdered his parents before killing two Oregon high school classmates in 1998 (10 p.m., Channels 48, 54, 16).

        • TV Critic John Kiesewetter also says Charlie Robinson plays David Alan Grier's father in DAG (8:30 p.m., Channels 5, 22), which returns two weeks after NBC canceled the sitcom.

Video picks

Critic's Picks: Cincinnati folks who picked up jobs as extras in the Oscar-winning Traffic can finally use freeze-frame to find themselves in the action when the Michael Douglas drama hits video and DVD shelves today, says Enquirer film critic Margaret A. McGurk.

Planning Ahead

24 hours out: The hard-hitting blues-rockers Walter Trout and the Radicals hit town for a two-night stand, no doubt playing a bunch of stuff from their new Go the Distance CD. 9 p.m. Wednesday, Lucille's night club, 3715 Winston Ave., Covington, $20. (859) 431-8086.

48 hours out: The Mary Ann Mongan Library has two films in honor of Appalachian Heritage Month: Cratis Williams: Living the Divided Life and Jack in the City. 6:30-9 p.m. Thursday, Fifth and Scott streets, Covington. (859) 491-7610.

72 hours 'til Friday: It's a major rite of summer, don't you know, when more than 300 artists and crafts people descend upon Coney Island for Summerfair 2001. 2-8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. 531-0050.
