Girl killed, two hurt in crash

Collision on Ohio 125 in Clermont County

The Cincinnati Enquirer

UNION TOWNSHIP — A 12-year-old Batavia girl was killed and two people were being treated for injuries Friday night in a two-vehicle collision on Ohio 125 near Bach-Buxton Road in Clermont County.

The crash occurred at 6:17 p.m. when an eastbound vehicle struck a vehicle turning from the westbound lane, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said. Kristen Johnson, a passenger in the vehicle that was struck broadside while attempting to make a left turn into a gas station, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said Rachel R. Swanson, 26, of Batavia, was driving the minivan that struck the car driven by Patricia Stephenson, 23, also of Batavia.

Ms. Stephenson was being treated Friday night at University Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Nicholas Stephenson, 3, a passenger in her car, was in serious condition at Children's Hospital Medical Center. Ms. Swanson was treated and released at Clermont Mercy Hospital.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
