Injured man identified
Police now seek help finding family

University Hospital officials have a tentative identification of a man found unconscious Thursday morning on Eastern Avenue along the Ohio River, but need help to find family or friends.
The man, who was identified by a homeless man as Claude Shorty Barrett Jr. of Seattle or Detroit, was found near the Boathouse at 7:30 a.m. Thursday. He was in serious condition Friday at University Hospital.
He is white, 5-foot-2, and weighs 150 pounds, with brownish-gray, thinning hair. He has several tattoos, including one on his upper right arm that says EB+RB, and another on his right forearm of a woman and a heart with the letters DLT.
Anyone with information is asked to call 584-1000.
