Local boxer gets world bronze

BELFAST, Northern Ireland — Cuba's Yan Bartelemi defeated Cincinnati native Ron Siler 23-7 in their light flyweight semifinal at the World Amateur Boxing Championships.

        Siler earned a bronze medal.

Bartelemi will face Romanian Velicu Marian for the gold. The Cuban left-hander was difficult to hit for Siler even though he landed crisp combinations in the final round.
