No sex indictment against teacher
The Associated Press
SHEPHERDSVILLE, Ky. A Bullitt County grand jury declined to bring charges against a middle school teacher accused of sexually abusing students.
Daryl Arend, 45, who remains suspended from his teaching job at Bernheim Middle School, had been arrested three times within two months on charges of first-degree sexual abuse. He pleaded not guilty to all three charges.
His latest arrest occurred in early May after three students filed criminal complaints of sexual abuse against him, bringing the total criminal complaints filed to seven since March. Mr. Arend has denied all charges.
