Green will defend Kroger title

        Hubert Green will defend his title at the Kroger Senior Classic Aug.27-Sept. 2 at the Golf Center at Kings Island after committing to play in the tournament Saturday along with 11 other Senior PGA Tour players.

        Green, a 19-time winner on the PGA Tour, including the U.S. Open and the PGA Championship, finished at 10-under par last year to hold off Larry Nelson, John Mahaffey and Gil Morgan to claim the $210,000 first prize.

        “It's always a challenge to come back the year after you've won a tournament, but I play the course in Cincinnati very well and I'd love to win it again,” Green said.
