Delhi couple's car stolen at gunpoint

The Cincinnati Enquirer

A Delhi Township couple were held up at gunpoint early Sunday by two men who took their Honda Accord.

The man and woman were followed home from Electra, a bar in Over-the-Rhine's Main Street entertainment district, said Delhi Detective James Wergers.

The couple first noticed the Oldsmobile Delta 88 behind them as they drove up Quebec Road about 3 a.m., the detective said. They hoped to make it home without anything happening, he said.

But as they turned into the parking lot of their apartment in the 4400 block of Fehr Road, two men — one with a handgun — jumped out of the Oldsmobile and forced the 23-year-old man to give up his wallet and keys. One jumped back in the Delta 88, the other into the light blue Honda, which the detective described as dressed up with special pinstriping.

The man and woman were not injured. Investigators think the thieves chose the car because of its extra detailing.

The car had not been recovered as of Sunday night. Detective Wergers asked anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 352-3040. Anonymous callers can get rewards.
