Bonds HR drought continues

LOS ANGELES — Giants slugger Barry Bonds extended his homerless streak to nine games and 31 at-bats — his longest of the season — in a 4-3 loss to the Dodgers Wednesday night.

Bonds singled and stole second in the first, got hit by a pitch in the third, popped up in the fifth and seventh and flied out in the ninth.

Bonds has 39 homers and is still on pace to break Mark McGwire's record of 70.

Eric Gagne pitched six scoreless innings in an emergency start as the Los Angeles Dodgers won their ninth straight.
