        GREENHILLS — A Springfield Township police officer was injured early this morning when he crashed his police car while responding to an assistance call from two other officers.

        Officer John Buxsel struck a concrete barrier on Winton Road at Andover. He was taken by life squad to University Hospital with a possible broken leg.

        Capt. David Schaefer of Springfield Township Police said the incident started when two officers responded near Winton and Compton roads for a disorderly person.

        One of those being questioned ran away, and the officers ran after him and called for more police help.

        Capt. Schaefer said Officer Buxsel was one of those who responded and subsequently lost control of his police car.
