Congrats
Association honors Live Oaks teacher
Jerry Kuhn, sales and marketing instructor at the Live Oaks Campus of Great Oaks Institute of Technology and Career Development, received the Marketing Education Teacher of the Year Award from the Ohio Association of Career and Technical Education's Marketing Education Division.
He is now eligible for the Outstanding Career and Technical Educator Award, to be presented this summer.
Oak Hills honors
The Junior Engineering and Technical Society teams at Oak Hills High School won regional and state honors in competitions.
The varsity team placed first in the region, first in the state, and 15th nationally. Team members were: seniors Chris Boettcher,David Boyles, Christy Brassfield, Patrick Daly, Chris Maiorano and Katherine Robinson, all of Delhi Township, and Lori Beerman of Bridgetown; and junior Doug Huseman of Delhi Township.
The junior varsity team also placed first in regional and state competitions, and 13th in the nation. Team members were: sophomores Steven Barrie, Jeri Center, Jason Loar, Jon Miles and Teddy Papin, all of Delhi Township, Jeremy Fullam and Nathan Hudson of Bridgetown; and junior Davone Shinkle of Delhi Township.
Perfect score
McAuley High School junior Kimberly Vogt achieved a perfect score on the 2001 National Latin Exam. About 112,000 students in the United States, Australia, Belgium, Canada, England, Italy, Japan, New Zealand and Zimbabwe took the test.
She was among 1,230 students who attained a perfect score.
Kim is the daughter of Carol and Joseph Vogt of Fairfield.
OSU award
Alyssa Bozicevich, an English major minoring in equine science, was linked into the 95th Class of SPHINX, the Senior Honorary at Ohio State University in Columbus.
SPHINX, the oldest honor society on campus, honors no more than 24 students who, by the end of their junior year, have attained success in various fields of endeavor, particularly leadership, scholarship and service, and who will promote the best interests of the university.
She is the daughter of Sylvia and Ron Bozicevich of Anderson Township.
