WEST CHESTER TOWNSHIP A former manager of a Donato's Pizza store is accused of helping two accomplices rob the restaurant on Beckett Center Drive, where two employees were severely pistol-whipped Sunday morning.
Travis Anderson, 20, of Sharonville, is charged with complicity to aggravated robbery.
Police Sgt. Matt Brillhart said Mr. Anderson had stopped by and chatted with two restaurant employees Sunday morning before the restaurant opened. Then, as he left the building, he allowed two accomplices to enter through a door that ordinarily would have remained closed at that time, Sgt. Brillhart said.
He knew the system. He knew the right time to hit, when they would have a lot of money, Sgt. Brillhart said, declining to say how much cash was taken.
Mr. Anderson at first claimed to be a victim of the robbery, but displayed none of the injuries suffered by the two pistol-whipped employees, Sgt. Brillhart said. He declined to identify them, but said they were recovering well after an overnight hospital stay.
Marvella Johnson, 19, of Forest Park, was charged with complicity to aggravated robbery, and a 16-year-old male from Forest Park, was charged with aggravated robbery and two counts of felonious assault.
Police arrested the three suspects between Tuesday and late Thursday.
Ms. Johnson and Mr. Anderson, who are scheduled for hearings in Butler County Area III Court on Monday, were being held in the Butler County Jail. The youth was being held in the Juvenile Detention Center.
