Sports Illustrated doesn't seem to think much of Cincinnati's bid for the 2012 Olympics.

        The U.S. Olympic Committee won't select an American city to compete internationally for the 2012 Olympics for another year, but an SI listing has seemingly eliminated Cincinnati from the running.

        In its latest edition, SI lists all eight cities that have submitted bids to the USOC for the Olympiad.

        Each city gets a one-sentence “pro” and “con” — except the Queen City.

        “Get real,” is the only comment attached to Cincinnati.

        Nick Vehr, president of Cincinnati 2012 Inc., said he's not surprised by the slight. He said the magazine has a bent against Cincinnati and it shows in its coverage of the Reds, Bengals and University of Cincinnati.

        “At the end of the day, they'll come to realize we're as real as it gets,” Mr. Vehr said. “They never find anything good to write about Cincinnati, so I'm not surprised they're picking on us again.”

        No one from the magazine's publicity department returned phone calls placed Friday.

        The USOC is in the middle of touring the eight cities that have bid for the Games. The others are New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Washington/Baltimore, Dallas, Houston and Tampa, Fla.

        The USOC will send its nine-member team to Cincinnati next week.
