An Ohio Poll released Friday found that 65 percent of the Ohio adults surveyed approved of the job Gov. Bob Taft is doing, compared with 61 percent in an Ohio Poll in April.

The poll, conducted by the University of Cincinnati's Institute for Policy Research, found that the main reasons those surveyed approved of Mr. Taft were his overall job performance, his education policies, and because they hadn't heard anything negative about him.
The poll found that 15 percent disapprove of the job he is doing and 20 percent don't know. Three percent cited his education policies as the reason they think he isn't doing a good job.
The university conducted a random survey by telephone of 836 Ohio adults from July 2 through July 18. The poll had a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3.4 percentage points.
