FUKUOKA, Japan — Ursuline graduate Erin Phenix won her second silver medal of the World Championships Sunday when the U.S. barely lost the women's 400-meter medley relay to Australia by 0.31 seconds.

Phenix also was a member of the 400-meter freestyle relay that tied for the silver with Great Britain earlier in the week.

The Aussies finished with 13 gold medals to nine for the Americans and accounted for six of the eight world records set here. At the Sydney Olympics, the United States won 14 golds to five for the hosts.
