Blue Ash offers taste of classic rock

        BLUE ASH — Great balls of fire, look who's coming to Blue Ash.

        Rock 'n' roll legend Jerry Lee Lewis will headline the entertainment at the Aug. 24-26 Taste of Blue Ash.

        Also on the bill are Petula Clark and Johnny Rivers, as well as the Kingston Trio, the Buckinghams and B.J. Thomas.

        “It's going to be a feast of fine food and great music,” said Julie Prickett, spokeswoman for the event.

        In past years, Taste has drawn more than 75,000 visitors over the three-day weekend in the heart of the community at Hunt and Cooper roads, Assistant City Manager Bruce Henry said.

        “Every year, Taste draws attention to our city and has a significant economic impact for merchants and restaurants while it continues to focus its entertainment for the fans of classic rock 'n' roll,” Mr. Henry said.

        Shuttle bus service will run continuously from several locations: Sycamore Junior High School, Edwin H. Greene Elementary School, Maple Dale Elementary School, Raymond Walters College, Ursuline Academy, Crossgate Bowling Lanes, the Sara Lee Foods Building, and the Blue Ash Municipal and Safety Center.

        Parking for the disabled will be at the corner of Hunt Road and Towne Square Avenue.

        Admission, parking and shuttle bus service are free. All bottles, cans, beverage coolers and pets are prohibited.

        • Hours: 6-11 p.m. Aug. 24; noon-11 p.m. Aug. 25; and noon-9 p.m. Aug. 26.

        Main stage entertainment schedule:

        • Aug. 24: 6-7 p.m., Bentwood Rockers; 8-9 p.m. the Buckinghams; 9:30-10:45 p.m., Johnny Rivers.

        • Aug. 25: 5-7 p.m., Big in Iowa; 7:30-8:30 p.m. Kingston Trio; 9:30-10:45 p.m., Jerry Lee Lewis.

        • Aug. 26: 4-6 p.m., Ooh La La & the Greasers; 7-8 p.m., B.J. Thomas; 8-9 p.m. Petula Clark.

        • Restaurants participating:

Applebee's, Baxter's, Black Forest, Burbank's, Cascades Restaurant, Chili's Bar & Grill, Clarion Hotel, Decent Deli, Donato's Pizza, Eddie's BBQ, Haute Chocolate, Maury's Reading Diner, Pacific Moon Cafe, Parker's Blue Ash Grill, Roly Poly Rolled Sandwiches, Sitar, Song Long Restaurant, Sorrento's Restaurant, Don Vonderhaar Market and Catering, Wertheim's and White Swan Restaurant.
