Fifth person dies from fair explosion

CLEVELAND A fifth person has died from injuries suffered in the July 29 explosion of an antique steam-powered tractor at the Medina County Fair.
Bryan Hammond, 18, of Homerville died Saturday at Cleveland MetroHealth Medical Center. Mr. Hammond had suffered burns and shrapnel wounds.
Nine people remained in three area hospitals Sunday, with one 12-year-old in serious condition.
Tractor owner Cliff Kovacic, 48; his son William Kovacic, 26; and a friend, Alan Kimble, 46, died immediately after the explosion. Friend Dennis Jungbluth, 58, later died at a hospital.
Medina County Sheriff Neil Hassinger will meet with three steam engine experts on Tuesday before making an announcements on why the tractor exploded.
