CONGRATS


Science project is honorable mention

        Laura Roselle, of Fairfield Middle School, won Honorable Mention at the Governor's Awards for Environmental Protection Research at State Science Day. The program is sponsored by the Ohio Academy of Science.

        Laura's project was, “Counteracting Acid Rain With Buffers.”

Champion wrestler

               Jahnise Bowie, a third-grader at Sands Montessori School, won a gold medal in the La Femme Nationale Wrestling Tournament. She wrestled undefeated at 55 pounds in the 60-pound class of the Folkstyle Tournament to become the champion.

        She also wrestled in the 63-pound weight class of the Freestyle Tournament and won second place.

        Jahnise is the daughter of Lisa Green and Korey Guerrant of Westwood.

National rankings

               The following students from Cincinnati Country Day School were ranked nationally as winners in the National French Exam:

        April Yee of Blue Ash was ranked 6; Charles Kulwin of Anderson Township and Robert Siverd of Indian Hill ranked 7; Marie Wevers of Sycamore Township ranked 10; and Paul Weavers of Loveland and Allison Greenberg of Blue Ash ranked 11.

Basic training

               The following airmen have graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas:

        Maya Gray, a graduate of Mount Healthy High School and daughter of Shannon Wilson of Springfield Township; Travis Brown, graduate of Northwest High School and son of Debbie Smith of Delhi Township and Ron Brown of Forest Park; Frederick Schwankhaus, son of Steve Schwankhaus of Norwood; Anthony Miller, graduate of Goshen High School and son of Janet Miller of Mount Repose and James Miller of Pleasant Plain; Kristin Harrison, graduate of Indian Hill High School and daughter of Ava Harrison of of Madisonville and Clarence Harrison of Louisville; Matthew Wallace, graduate of Colerain High School and son of Sheri Wallace and Vince Wallace, of Monfort Heights; Antonia Larkins, graduate of Princeton High School and daughter of Janelle Larkins of Springdale; and Karrie Ruehl, graduate of Fairfield High School and daughter of Kim Thomas of Fairfield and Mitch Ruehl of Harrison.
