Sampras enjoys married life

By Michael Perry
The Cincinnati Enquirer

MASON - Pete Sampras was like any groom before he married actress Bridgette Wilson last September (“It was nerve-racking leading up to the ceremony. It just happened quickly. Four hours later, we're off to our honeymoon”).

Except for this: Usually when a groom says he has a little entertainment lined up, he isn't referring to someone like, say, Elton John.

“It was a nice surprise (for the guests),” Sampras said, smiling. “He doesn't play many weddings.”

The entertainer performed for about 40 minutes at Sampras' wedding, which took place in the backyard of his Los Angeles home in front of about 80 family members and friends.

“It was a great day,” Sampras said.

“Being married and finding someone who you love is the best thing in life. It gives me stability. It gives me balance. I think there's nothing more I could ask for in my life. I've done everything in the game. I won the (13) Slams. I've been No.1. I've got a healthy family and great wife. When you look at the big picture, there are a lot of guys who would love that.”

Wilson-Sampras, who is with her husband in Cincinnati, played Matthew McConaughey's fiancee in the movie The Wedding Planner, which opened earlier this year.
